TORNADO DISASTER RELIEF
Due to the unprecedented tornado disaster in the Miami Valley, we are partnering with the international relief organization, Samaritan’s Purse, and are allowing our building to be used as their command center for disaster relief over the next 4 weeks. If you want to get involved in the relief efforts immediately, you can visit their website at spvolunteer.org & click “Dayton, Ohio Tornado Response” to find descriptions of the types of projects they will be leading, volunteer requirements and more. Additionally, Samaritan’s Purse will be holding volunteer orientations here at Living Word Church in the main auditorium & they will be providing specific instructions on how best you can serve.
Monday - Saturday, 7:30am and 12:30pm
Sundays at 12:30pm only - immediately following our 11:00am worship experience.
If you want to volunteer and prefer to communicate via telephone, they can be reached through their volunteer hotline at (937) 414-1152.
And finally, if you are a homeowner affected by the tornado, you can contact Samaritan’s Purse by phone at (937) 818-7062 to report your situation directly to them.
As a church family here at Living Word, we will be combining all of our efforts with those of Samaritan’s Purse and will be deferring to their leadership along the way. If you’d like to partner with us financially, please visit dlwc.org/give, click the “Give Online” button and select “Disaster Relief” from the designation drop down menu. For Text 2 Give, please send the word “Relief $$” (ex. Relief 20) to (937) 204-1440. Or you can write a check to Living Word Church and write “Disaster Relief” in the memo line.
We’re honored to be a part of the answer to our city’s needs in this crucial moment of our history. We exist to see a city know God and there is no greater way to show His love than the opportunities we have in front of us right now!
